The mural tells an anecdote about the first woman to obtain a degree in Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. It tells how the professor addressed the only woman in the class, acknowledging having thought that she had copied the exam. He did not consider her capable of solving the exercise on her own, only realising his mistake when he saw that no other student had solved it.
The scene is represented in the work as if it were a black-and-white photograph; only in the figure of the woman is colour used to emphasise her presence. The literal phrase recited by the teacher is also added to contextualise the work: “At first I thought she was copying, but she was the only one able to solve it”. As it is a reproduction of a photograph, the design is fully adaptable to the wall surface.
