We need references that situate us in space in order to locate ourselves, fix our position, and chart the direction to follow with the aim of advancing or progressing. Furthermore, we need forms that signify and reference our capacity to project the future, understand and build our reality, and commit our capacity to be in relation to contents that represent challenges of collective progress. We need memory: to recall events and facts that are worthwhile because they signify values.
We believe that its presence is necessary for the proximity of everyday life and that there is not necessarily an aversion of principles between artistic approaches and everyday culture. For all these reasons, the game of misrepresentation is of particular interest: by means of which we use the attributes of the traditional monument to update them and broaden their meaning. Meaning and signifiers have to do with the construction of new meanings of modernity.
Additionally, as an expressive resource, we think the play of ambiguities and mixtures, of open interpretations and renewed readings: doors, pillars, jardiniere and zoomorphic reference. There is no doubt that the values represented by the Kyoto protocol deserve a reflexive and permanent presence in our daily environment. These values will undoubtedly condition our future.
