Pictorial mural. An emotionally charged intervention dedicated to the elderly who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease. Elderly people are so hard-working yet fragile. With a quote from the writer Francesc Rodrigo: “You are the roots of the tree of memory, the thread of light that runs through life and weaves the garment of time.
To fight against oblivion, we will always walk holding your warm and protective hand”. Using a monochromatic palette of greys with a small touch of colour with geometric shapes in the background gives the composition simplicity and highlights the figures.
Alzheimer’s is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behaviour. Symptoms usually develop slowly and worsen over time, until they are so severe that they interfere with everyday tasks. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60 to 80 percent of dementia cases. Alzheimer’s is not a normal feature of ageing. It is usually diagnosed in people over the age of 65, although there are cases with early onset.
